DESCRIPTION
Pea - Sugar Snap - Pisum sativum
Hardy annual Snap. Sweet and crunchy edible pods and peas grow on short vines. Pods are 2.5"-3" long and bear over a short period.
Did You Know? Peas are a good source of Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Potassium and dietary fiber. Peas are legumes which add nitrogen to the soil.
Soil & Water: Well drained, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Adequate water is needed for high yield.
Planting & Growing: Direct seed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. For best yields and easier picking, provide support at planting time with a fence or trellis.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when the peas enlarge in the pods. Good for freezing and canning.
