This old-fashioned and unique collard variety, introduced in 1820 by David Landreth, has smooth, bright green leaves. It is heat- and frost-resistant, slow-bolting, and non-heading, growing 30-34 inches tall. It offers excellent resistance to cabbage worms and cabbage loopers, making it especially suitable for Southern and warm coastal states. Thin out any dull-leaved off-type plants.
