Moss Curled Parsley
Days to Maturity: 70-85 days
Quantity: Approximately 2 g, or about ~900-1350 seeds, (sows 35-70 feet)
(Petroselinum crispum) This pre-1865 parsley variety is vigorous, high-yielding, and very uniform, with dark green, thickly curled leaves that give the plant a moss-like appearance. It is an excellent choice for both fresh use and for drying.
How to Grow:
Parsley seed germinates very slowly, requiring 3-4 weeks. Sow seeds in early spring directly into the garden, 1/4 inch deep, and thin to 6-12 inches apart. Keep well watered. Soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours will speed up germination. You can also try the fast germination procedure by planting the seeds in a small flat of soil or planting medium, placing it in a zip-lock bag, and freezing for 12-24 hours. After freezing, keep the seeds moist until they begin to germinate. Parsley requires full sun. Seed Savers: To isolate for home use, plant at least 1/4 mile away from other parsley varieties. For pure
