An Alabama heirloom obtained from Jean Mills and introduced in 2015 by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. This landrace exhibits a broad spectrum of stunning leaf colors, including green, blue-green, and purple leaves adorned with white, pale green, and plum-colored veins. Unlike many collards, these plants feature smaller leaves, allowing for closer spacing. The leaves are tender, quick to cook, and retain their sweetness even in hot weather. Blue-leaved collards, once somewhat scarce, are a variety we aim to reintroduce to a wider audience.
