Floriani Red Flint Corn
Days to Maturity: 100 days
Quantity: Approximately 42 g or about ~150 seeds, (sows 40-60 feet of transplants)
This family heirloom from the Valsugana valley of Italy near Trento, originally brought to Italy from America, evolved over hundreds of years to become the staple polenta corn of the valley. Introduced by SESE and Fedco Seeds in 2009, it features beautiful medium- to deep-red kernels that are slightly pointed. The cornmeal has a pink cast and makes polenta with a remarkably rich, complex flavor. Plants grow 7-10 feet tall, slightly smaller and faster maturing than other varieties. There is some tendency to lodge.
