(Marglobe strain) Developed in 1917 from a cross between ‘Marvel’ and ‘Globe,’ and released by the USDA in 1925, Marglobe has remained in demand for generations while other varieties have come and gone. This strain is selected for disease resistance, producing red, medium-sized (5-8 oz.) fruits with firm walls and excellent flavor. The stocky, vigorous plants offer good disease tolerance and protection from sunscald.
