(Capsicum annuum) Developed before 1912 from a cross between Chinese Giant and Ruby King, this heirloom sweet pepper produces thick-fleshed, 3 x 4 inch bell peppers that ripen from green to deep red. The 3-foot tall plants are productive and the fruits are exceptionally sweet when fully ripened, making them ideal for fresh eating, stuffing, or roasting.
