🌱 Plant Type: Bare root strawberry (June-bearing)
🌱 Hardiness Zones: 3–8
🌱 Mature Size: Up to 12 inches tall and wide
🌱 When to Plant: Early spring, as soon as soil can be worked
🌱 When to Harvest: Early to midseason (typically late spring through early summer, depending on location)

Cultivation Tips

Soil requirements: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Incorporate compost before planting and avoid low areas where water may pool.
Sunlight: Full sun (6–8+ hours daily) for best fruit size and sweetness.
Planting depth: Set plants so the crown sits just above the soil surface—do not bury or expose it.
Spacing: Approximately 12 inches apart (can be spaced wider if desired).
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting and maintain consistent moisture throughout the growing season. Mulching helps conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Harvesting: Pick berries when fully red and firm. Harvest every few days during peak season.
Landscape use: Excellent for garden beds, borders, containers, and edible landscapes. Honeoye’s compact habit also works well as ground cover.
