Cultivation Tips
• Soil requirements: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Incorporate compost before planting and avoid low areas where water may pool.
• Sunlight: Full sun (6–8+ hours daily) for best fruit size and sweetness.
• Planting depth: Set plants so the crown sits just above the soil surface.
• Spacing: Approximately 12 inches apart (can be spaced wider if desired).
• Watering: Water thoroughly after planting and maintain consistent moisture throughout the growing season. Mulching helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
• Harvesting: Pick berries when fully red and fragrant. Harvest every few days during peak season.
• Landscape use: Excellent for garden beds, borders, containers, and edible landscapes. Jewel’s compact habit also works well as a ground cover.
