(Capsicum annuum) This very hot pepper ripens from green to orange to red-orange and produces slender, pendant fruits measuring ½ x 2¼ inches. The thin-walled fruits grow on attractive 4-foot plants and are excellent for chili, salsa, hot pepper vinegar, and pickling. Intensely hot at any stage of ripeness and dries easily for long-term use.
