(Red Rock + Texas Super Sweet + Candy)

Harvest the South’s favorite sweet-and-color trio with this curated Short-Day Bundle — designed for mild winters, short days, and jumbo, low-pungency onions. Each bundle includes approximately 25 plants each of Red Rock (vibrant red keeper), Texas Super Sweet (the legendary 1015Y softball-sized sweet), and Candy (day-neutral supersweet hybrid) — giving you approximately 75 premium, non-GMO plants total grown with natural and regenerative practices. Perfect for gardeners in zones 7–10 who crave fresh, tear-free flavor all spring.

Bundle Includes

  • Red Rock – Medium-large, deep crimson bulbs with 5–7 month storage; sweet-spicy red.
  • Texas Super Sweet – Jumbo, globe-shaped yellow bulbs; ultra-mild, no tears (best fresh).
  • Candy – Massive, light-skinned yellow bulbs; day-neutral supersweet giant (best fresh).

Key Details at a Glance

  • Day length: Short-Day (best in zones 7–10)
  • Days to maturity: 75–110 from transplant (varies by variety)
  • Total plants: Approximately 75 bare-root starts (~25 per variety)
  • Storage range: 2–7 months depending on variety
  • Best uses: Raw eating, grilling, salsas, fresh sales, Southern classics

Why Choose the Short-Day Bundle?

  • Southern sweet perfection – Low pungency, high sugar; eat raw like fruit.
  • Color + size variety – Red, yellow, and jumbo yellow in one planting.
  • Early & abundant – Harvest from late spring through summer.
  • Day-neutral bonus – Candy performs even if days stretch longer.
  • Value & ease – Three top Southern varieties, one shipment, ideal for a 10–15 ft row.

Growing Tips Direct-transplant as soon as soil can be worked in early spring (soil ≥40°F). Space 4–6″ apart in rows 12–18″ apart. Provide full sun, consistent moisture (1″ weekly), and occasional nitrogen boosts. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Harvest when 50–70% of tops yellow and fall over; cure in a dry, airy spot for 2–3 weeks.

Standard Information

  • Plant type: Bulbing onion (Allium cepa)
