Growing tips

🌱Direct sow or transplant in early spring or fall. Swiss chard is one of the most season-spanning greens you can grow — tolerating both cool spring weather and summer heat, and producing right through fall frost.

🌿Excellent as a microgreen — sow densely in trays and harvest at 30 days for tender, golden-stemmed baby greens. For full-size bunching, thin to 6–12" apart and let plants develop their full, cheerful golden stems.

💧Water consistently and feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer. Chard is a heavy feeder — consistent nutrition keeps leaves large, glossy, and vibrantly colored all season long.

✂️Harvest outer leaves at 60 days and the plant keeps producing all season. Sauté stems and leaves separately — stems take longer and stay beautifully golden when cooked. Mix with red and white chard for a stunning rainbow bunch at the farmers market.
