Growing tips

🌱Start indoors 10–12 weeks before last frost. Celery is slow to germinate — surface sow seeds and keep consistently moist and warm (70–75°F). Tango’s early maturity makes it ideal for shorter growing seasons where standard celery struggles.

💧Celery is a heavy drinker — water consistently and deeply throughout the season. Never let the soil dry out. Mulch heavily around plants to retain moisture and keep roots cool. Drought stress causes bitter, stringy stalks.

🌿Feed with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer every 2–3 weeks. Celery is one of the heaviest feeders in the garden — consistent nutrition is the key to thick, flavorful stalks. Tango’s self-blanching habit means no hilling or wrapping required.

✂️Harvest individual outer stalks as needed once plants reach full size, or cut the whole head at the base. The smooth, non-stringy stalks are perfect for snacking, soups, stocks, and stir-fries — and the apple green tops make a beautiful garnish.
